For months, I was told I won the cancer lottery. But in September 2023, the pain started. Stabbing, irregular pain. The kind of pain that tells you the story isn’t over. This is the appointment that changed everything, where I realized my fight wasn’t just against the cancer, but against the person hired to save me.
I felt the stabbing pain in my left breast, right at the lumpectomy scar.
Looking at it, I wondered: Is this how a lumpectomy is usually closed?
The scar was irregular. Deformed. A new lump had formed at the site—and it hurt.
The nerve pain running through my now-deformed nipple was severe enough to wake me at night.
